From the Beltway to Baltimore
MCIC’s Second Annual Summit
MCIC's Second Annual Summit
Friday, November 13, 2026 | 9:00–11:30 a.m. Prince George's County, MD
Why a Summit?
We'll deliver the playbook to bring more capital to all communities in Maryland.
Most New Markets Tax Credit investment in Maryland has historically concentrated in Baltimore City. That means federal funding for facilities like food pantries, community centers, and job training sites has missed communities that need it most in Prince George's, Montgomery, and Charles Counties. MCIC wants to change that and this summit is where the playbook gets shared.
Join community development leaders, lenders, developers, investors, and public officials for a morning built around one question…
How do we bring more capital to underserved communities across Maryland, faster?
Hear From the Developer Who Turned a Blueprint Into a Neighborhood
Keynote speaker Thibault Manekin will share hard-won lessons from Remington, the once-overlooked Baltimore neighborhood he helped redevelop through community-led planning and complex financing tools like the New Markets Tax Credit. Remington's transformation into one of Baltimore's most vibrant, in-demand neighborhoods is a case study in what's possible when patient capital meets community vision. Manekin will break down what it actually took to get there, deal by deal.
